WHAT IS THE PIEROGI CLASS?

Pierogi come in different sizes, but always in the same shape. During our 3-hour workshop, we will prepare a main dish and a dessert. We will make the pierogi with some of classic fillings: ruskie (Ruthenian-style) with quark, boiled potatoes, and sautee onions; artisan meat pierogi with minced pork or savory cabbage and mushrooms dumplings. The dessert will be sweet – we will fill our pierogi with seasonal fruits or cottage cheese. This is a home cooking class so it will take place in a modern, fully equipped private kitchen and it will be conducted by our pierogi expert who is an active cook and with lots of experience.

No previous experience in cooking is required, if you can make a sandwich, you’re fit for the job!

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Do you know where to eat pierogi in Poland? Everywhere! Do you know where to learn how to make them? On our cooking class! Pierogi are the staple of Polish cuisine. You can fill them with anything you love – pork, beef, cabbage, wild mushrooms, blueberries, strawberries, quark. Your culinary imagination is the limit.

With our workshop, you will discover how to prepare fantastic, savory pierogi under the careful eye of our pierogi expert. And it’s guaranteed you are going to like your own pierogi so much that you will eat them all afterwards!

As many other reviewers have said, the strength of this tour is the wealth of cultural and historic context that Magda provides, for example we learnt a lot about traditional Polish Christmases and the amazing Christmas Eve feast. Try this tour, whether you fancy a breaded cutlet or not - you won't be disappointed!

Magda was a wonderful guide, she is extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the food and the history behind it. She also had great suggestions on where to go during our stay and the food we needed to try (that we couldn't fit in on the tour). Needless to say we spent the rest of our holiday tasting all the delights that Warsaw has to offer! Highly recommended.

Magda seriously knows a lot about Polish cuisine! We are from Lithuania so we didn't expect something too different but we were nicely surprised by tasty food and all the stories that our great guide told us.

I had a blast learning about the history of eating in Warsaw while... eating in Warsaw! Magda was our guide and she is very knowledgable and pulls from her own history and past for examples. I don't think I would have enjoyed Warsaw quite as much without this tour.

My wife and I have been on several food tours in Europe and this one is among the best. Magda is perfectly suited for the food tour and had answers to every question we asked. The way that the history, culture, and traditions of Poland are tied into the tour really made this a well balanced tour.
